4bent note pitch sharp
Kinya Gday.
First up let me say how much I enjoy your instruction videos. Not sure if this question is for you or Winslow.
Bending with my C harp I am able to easily (relative to my A harp) bend all draw notes fully. I have noticed that my 4draw, Db pitch is playing sharp, not going deep enough (no such issue with my A harp so assume not player error) Question, is this a gap issue or a tuning issue. All other draw notes including 3, down 3 half steps to Ab, are playing nicely. This is confirmed on Harp Ninja.
Second question Please. Is the Harmonica Einstein Tuning Table suitable for Special 20 s.
Many thanks
PS Hmmm well after some more testing and really trying to get it bent to the full extent of the half step I am getting there, its operator error after all. Whilst its only a half-step it seem to take more tongue movement than other half step notes. 3 and 6 are very comfortable to reach.
Hi John, good to hear from you
I'm glad you discovered it was the Mechanic and not the Tool ;o)
Re: the Harmonica Einstein Tuning Table, you wil have to remove the "sprues" from the SP20 combs first. This will require you to disassemble your SP20--isolate the comb and remove those annoying pieces of ABS plastic located between each of the slots (sprues are only necessary during the injection molding and cooling process). Check out the #84386 from MicroMark. http://www.micromark.com/Professional-Sprue-Cutter. This will surgically remove the sprues from you Special 20 ABS combs.
