Pretty cool editing software recommended by fellow student Sandor. He states, "It's not for live music, but for studio recording... fixing vocals, and works very well with harmonica. Harmonica caused headaches for other software." He also uses this software to convert what he played from audio to midi so that the midi can be imported into notation software to notate in standard music notation what he played. Thanks Sandor.

The Ultimate Jam Track series is another great collection of killer blues backing tracks. Like Jimi Lee's jam tracks, the musicians are steeped in the tradition of the blues and are inspiring to play with. There are three CDs available and they're all great http://www.ultijamtracks.com/blues.html

Be aware that when a passage contains a repetitive lick, e.i., a string of notes that are rhythmically the same (such as a triplet passage for more than two beats), most players will have the tendency to rush. Knowing that this is common, when you approach such a passage make sure to feel the pulse of the music and hold yourself back from rushing.

Through this series I hope you've caught on that repetition, or by another name... organization, comes in many different forms in music. Take a listen to "Gary's Blues," your Tongue Block Study 3 study song. Listen for themes and we'll compare notes tomorrow.

In the book Improvising Jazz by Jerry Coker there's a quote author by Richmond Browne that "The listener must come our right around 50% of the time" in regards to guessing where the music is going next. Ruminate on that important statement and I'll elaborate tomorrow.
