BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ...
CUTTING THE HUMMM...
One of the single greatest annoyances for Tin Sandwich Jockeys who employ Lord Microphone while performing in the line of duty is GROUND NOISE -or perhaps more accurately UNGROUNDED NOISE. Looking at the vast majority of harpmics as being HIGH IMPEDANCE underscores the need to be certain their external shells/cases/grills are well GROUNDED (EARTHED in the Euro parlance) to prevent the resulting non-musical BUZZZZZZZ from driving you and your audience crazy.
IT'S SIMPLE! Make certain that there's is solid contact between the shielding (GROUND) of your mic's cable and output connector AND that there is continuity (contact) between them and ALL aspects of the mic's shell AND grill -as well as the NEGATIVE (-) pole of the mic's element. If they're all tied together, you'll likely prevent / minimize that distracting UHHH-UHHH-UHHH you'll hear when touching an ungrounded mic shell or grill.
