Discovered a study trick
Not having a background in music, most things I learn here at bluseharmonica.com is new to me. I’m just about finished with LOA3 and was struggling to evaluate my timing with the study song.
I discovered this trick which greatly helped, and I thought I would share it with others.
Using Audacity and headphones, I added my recording in one track and David’s recording in another track. I adjusted the tracks so they were in sync and adjusted the audio so my playing was in one ear and David’s was in the other ear. This worked amazingly well. I could hear when I got to the more challenging parts of the song, I was trailing behind by just fractions of a second. I also discovered I am much slower than David when going from the 3 draw to a 3 draw bend. This also was a morale booster as I did many things in perfect sync with David’s playing.
If you have any tricks you use to study a song or to improve your playing, please share.
