Just blow it out your ...
Hello all Queunliskanphobias,
On top of my workbench I use a low CFM air brush compressor to blow saliva and condensation off reed plates and combs.
However, in my Study/Music Room I use to have a can of compressed air that I would blow into the chambers of my harmonicas after playing to keep the reeds and comb clean and dry. Unfortunately, due to an outbreak of people inhaling this stuff for recreational purposes (present company excluded ;o), manufacturers had to add a nasty ingredient called bitterant to discourage inhalant abuse. Bitterant leaves a thin oily film on reeds and mouthpieces -- bummer!
Today I use and highly recommend the "Metro DataVac ElectricDuster 500 ED-500" -- originally intended for cleaning electronic parts. When plugged into a simple lamp dimmer (potentiometer) switch, you can adjust the air flow down to match a butterfly's wing flap, or turn it up to compete with the Landscaper's leaf blower!
