Within this lesson plan you’ll learn how to: perform pulls and flutters; play syncopated rhythms; play shuffle bass lines; play fills and more advanced backing ideas for vocals and other instruments while they solo; and play music notated for other instruments on the harmonica.

"Gary’s Blues" Tongue Blocking Study 3
In this lesson you’ll learn pulls, flutters and syncopated rhythms.
"Take it Easy Now" or "The Strut" Bending Studies 2.5 or 3
Listen to both of these on the website and choose one to study and submit for evaluation.
Solo Harmonica Study 2
Focus heavily on Examples 2.1 and 2.2, these shuffle lines are very common on the harmonica.
Accompaniment Study 4 – Fills
In this study you learn how to play fills in the spaces between the vocals and more ideas on how to approach playing under vocals and solos of other instruments.
Movement Exercises – Scales
Focus on the C Major Scale across the entire range of the harmonica—skipping the 10’+
Improvising Study 1 - Assignment 1: Placing lick into Chorus Form Context
In this lesson you learn how to take one lick and place it into the most common phrasing types used by pro players.
Music Theory Study 1 – Section 4
In this lesson you learn how to take music for any instrument and rewrite it for the harmonica.
Once you’ve completed this material it’s now time record and submit the written section to David for review.
