News From MegaTone Amps!
Hey Guys,
This year MegaTone Amps is celebrating its 10 year anniversary of the WEZO harmonica amp. For those interested in how it all started, you can hear the story here and see a blog post I did about the history of our first model the WEZO-45.
Our cabinet maker (Ken Jones) retired a few months ago and this means some changes are happening in our product line. First, we have only a few more of the combo style cabinets that have a single ten inch speaker, in stock and for sale (see our new web page). After these cabinets are sold, we will no longer be offering the tolex covered cabinets.
Moving forward, I will be offering cabinetry made from beautiful solid hardwoods crafted by a local artisan Matt Kosma. Pictured in the above links is the dual ten combo along with a head version of our latest WEZO ME-18. Those looking something more economical might consider one of the serveral compact head versions of our harp amp, one is smaller than a toaster and weighing just 12 lbs and the other is built inside a vintage Hewlett-Packard signal generator cabinet.
Another way to get our circuit, is to send us a vintage public address amplifier to be fully restores with our ME-18 circuit. Cost for this option starts at $699 and the only requirement is that the stock transformers are in good working order. Contact me if you want to discuss this option further, its a great way to have the stock "look" with a new reliable, high performance point to point build under the hood!
Finally, we offer our compact and full sized chassis for sale to those who want to make their own cabinet (call for quote).
Please consider one of our products, we are a very small operation building amps to order, by hand using top quality components sourced as much as possible here in the USA. We also sell tenderized speakers to upgrade your current rig. Mike Wesolowski and I are happy to talk with you to discuss any questions you may have.
