This is a cover of a Mitch Kashmar number (assuming his version is not itself a cover). Mitch does this one in a sort of Jimmy Reed style but we couldn't seem to get that groove down, which was my initial intention, so we ended up putting a different spin on it. continue reading...

Kind Hearted Woman Accompaniment

Got asked to play with a guitar player/vocalist friend at an acoustic gig - man, what a difference to the electric jams I'm used to. This is what we ended up with on this Robert Johnson tune. Needless to say the comping is what I am getting out of David's accompaniment lessons. Hopefully doing them justice!

My Blues Jam

This jam was recorded from a mobile phone with a friend and incredibly talented guitarist Jack, everything is inspired by Barrett's "My Blues", but without the belt, 12 bar solo with guitar without harmonica :-) I only play a few bars of My Blues, then I try to just improvise

Hi!

I am a 28 years old chilean harp player, I have been playing for 2 1/2 years now, and I am a new member here, so I want to introduce myself whit a impro that I recorded a few months ago.

It is 100% impro, but I did wanted to work on a idea, I wanted to mix "sweet" playing whit big james-cotton-like -4 fanning and vibrato.

Critiques are always welcome!

Thxs!

the tub

study song the tub. I used a blues blaster mic w/ white cr from Greg Heumann , the amp is a stock Bogen HE-10 head from the early 1950s with the tone selector on crisp setting(no treble or bass pot) tubes are 2 6v6, 6sj7 6sl7 5y3. The speaker is a ribbed 8" heppner from 1961 organ ($7 off ebay) the cone looks just like a the weber sig 8s speaker. no delay or reverb. Any way just thought i mention what i used since its not the normal rig , and if anyone was curious on how an old bogen sounded like, since there all over ebay.

LOA (Level 1 Study Song)

“Walk with Me”

I'm going to work thru the Levels of Achievement & hopefuly solidify my playing.
Back to the basics here, but a very fun song.
I forced myself to Tongue Switch the 1 hole, this is great a song for working that technique in BTW.
I can't quite get the sweet Tremolo Decay like the Master, but it's good feedback to hear how much smoother Dave's is than mine. Something to strive for I guess!
