A Shout out to David and BluesHarmonica.com
Just a little shout out to David Barrett, my teacher, and the institution that is BluesHarmonica.com.
I am closing out my first year as a student and while looking back, I am amazed at how far I have come. Amidst running two businesses through an owner breakdown and buyout, being a drummer and vocalist in a band that was practicing two times a week, playing shows and recording a new album, nurturing a new relationship and also learning...ahem....guitar, I was able to make it to the cusp of recording my level 5 submission. It's kind of unbelievable. I can actually sit in with a band and make a real contribution to the music.....and I'm only half way down the slide that will spit me out where I can only then begin the new journey of playing harmonica.
Not all my submissions have been great. David expects our very best effort. He deserves our very best efforts. He has the tactful manner to let us know when we should have continued practicing. I thank you David for your cander.
I am truly thankful to have found this place we call BluesHarmonica.com. It is much more than a website. It is an institution of higher learning. A brother and sisterhood where we can share stories and experiences. Where we kinda just "get" each other.
Anyway. Thank you David and thank you BluesHarmonica.com and thanks to all the members.
I look forward to year 2 of the journey.
