Subwoofer for Computer Speakers
If you commonly listen to music on your desktop computer speakers or through your laptop’s built-in speakers, you’re missing out on the lower frequencies. This is not much of an issue unless you’re having difficulty hearing the chord changes. The bass player outlines the chords, so if you can’t hear it well, you’ll have challenges staying within the form. This can be fixed by purchasing a computer speaker system with subwoofer, or by using a cable (commonly 1/8 stereo to 2xRCA) to go from your computer’s headphones out to your home stereo speakers so that the bass can be more accurately represented.
P.S., I used my keyboard amp last Thursday in a band training class and had it there for my bass… dialed in to sound good for the bass. I plugged my laptop into it so that we could deconstruct the tunes and wow, it sounded like the bass player was in the room with us!
