Trossingen Day 3
Classes went well today... tongue blocking was the focus. We also spent some time doing hole changes, a concept taught in my Blues Harmonica Accompaniment Playing book. The evening jam session was a lot of fun with some great harmonica players. It's obvious coming to this event every year and other events in Europe that there's a very high level of players... more so than the states.
Your tip of the day...
I see a lot of jammers... and I saw it last light... give lack-luster signals to the band, even when handing over a solo. It's not uncommon for me to see the soloist look to the guitarist and then look at the piano player a moment later... who get's the solo?
Be clear please... look at ONE person and nod your head at the turnaround so it's VERY clear what's going on.
