I do lotsa repairs on mics that have come to harm due to a combination of gravity and carelessness. Dislodged cables, dented grills, decimated crystal elements can be the result when an irresistible force meets a very movable object. That is, when someone steps on your harpmic's cord and it plummets toward some hard unwelcoming surface. Floors come to mind... I've sung the praises of velcro before, but it can't take the place of critical thinking or its practical application... Tuck the mic's cable into the back of the amp; loop the cable thru the amp's handle if it's got one; stow your mic at ground level or in its case if there's a likelihood of "foot traffic". Lessen the liability factor, increase the intervals between repairs...
