2 and 3 draw Notes Flat
Hello Kinya, I did try your suggestion given on an earlier post and I am still having problems. I took a newer harmonica and with the same pucker method applied to each harp the new one sounds fine and the older ones are really flat, same result with the tongue blocking technique applied to each harp.
Hey Timmy
Yeah I know this can be frustrating, but when you get--it will change your life!
Did you try using only the tongue blocking embouchure--as opposed to lip blocking (puckering)?
Did blowing on the 3 reed flatten the note as well?
Are you an on-line, or live student of Davids?
Try this:
With tape (painters blue masking preferred) cover holes #1 an #3. This will isolate #2. Now place the harmonica in your mouth a LIGHTLY draw on the #2 reed. If this doesn't work, your tongue is still humped up too high. Next, stand in front of the mirror and with a tongue depressor, press your tongue all the way to the bottom of your mouth (don't choke!). Look carefully--see and FEEL the location of your tongue ... now without moving your tongue, gently place the harmonica back in your mouth and lightly draw on the #2 ... well?
