2 Draw or 9 Draw
For anyone suffering from 2Drawitist, ie., the sound is terrible etc...because you're either a rookie or newbie to tongue-blocking or both, here are a couple of things that helped me.
1. Search the forum and you'll find several posts
2. Checkout the video in the FAQ section regarding
My 2 draw and/or high-end notes sounds flat, airy or not at all!
3. Try a pucker or purse embouchure and play aournd with your tongue location etc...until you can achieve a better tone. Try forming the letter E as you draw to widen your air chamber. Once you "hear" the real 2 draw, then you can stop blaming your harp.
4. When tonuge blocking, flip your harp so that hole 10 is to the left and hole 1 to the right. Draw on hole 2 (draw hole 9 in the real world) and see what happens. (For a while I was thinking that I had air leakage on the 2 draw--since part of your mouth is off the end of the harp--but when I flipped the harp and was able to have a 'normal' tongue embouchure, well the 2 draw was still sick--but at least I ruled out air leakage)
So as David and many others have said: it'll take time, practice, hang-in-there, don't give up, you can do it...
Best of luck,

When I form the E vowel my tongue goes up and makes the air chamber smaller, not larger. The Ahhh vowel, on the other hand, gets my tongue completely out of the way of the air flow.
The best way to open up your airway is to yawn. The whole purpose of the yawn is to et a lot of air into your lungs quickly with no resistance, so everything opens way up.
