I am not 100% sure if the 520DX was ever made in the USA. Certainly earlier Green Bullet models like the 520D, the 520SL and others were made in the USA and were different. (The 520D's were also made in Mexico.) But if the mic is a model 520DX, it has the built in volume control and the modern dynamic element with mylar diaphragm regardless of where it was made, and there would be no appreciable difference between a USA-made and a Mexican-made one. The 520DX elements sound harsher than the older models that had Controlled Reluctance or Controlled Magnetic elements. Those elements had foil diaphragms. Foil is heavier than mylar so the maximum frequency response is more limited, which is a good thing.
