Good morning tan. Airiness is

Good morning tan. Airiness is a normal byproduct of someone learning how to bend, so it's appearance is not uncommon. As you continue to get better with daily practice it will slowly decrease. Your tongue should hump up further back (slightly) than the 3 draw in your mouth, so the key is to experiment with raising your tongue further back. Experiment with the KEE-YOU that I teach in the Bending Study 1... this will help start your tongue a bit further forward in your mouth and then move it through the range associated with the 2" bend. Experiment, experiment, experiment... and time... you'll get it.

The more you advance as a

The more you advance as a player the more tongue blocking you will use (students that start with me from the beginning stage tongue block all the time). For this reason it's beneficial to tongue block when you bend. If you prefer to start with pucker bending, you can do so, but eventually you'll find yourself tongue block bending as well, so you'll save time learning how to tongue block bend from the start.
