Air Leaking
Hi David,
I have been a member of Blues Harmonica for 1 year 47 weeks . And took on the challenge to be a full time TB from a pucker player. And have found the transition quite a challenge, but totally embraced the fact that I am starting from scratch again. The issue I have is that I have had hearing aids fitted about six weeks ago and have now noticed due to everything being amplified by my hearing aids that when moving down from hole 4 I leak air from thr left side of my mouth on the first two holes. Something that due to my slight hearin loss I hadn't noticed. Therefore is it a issue that I TB everything from hole 3 up or can you suggest a solution to stop the air leaking. Thanks
Tony
Okay, good that you figured it out. Many players push the right side of the harmonica towards their right cheek, but this is for cupping purposes (to block the upper holes of air leakage to give you a more bassy sound when playing amplified or more muted sound when closing your cup in preparation for a hand Wa), but you're right, you do't want to break your seal.
Hello Tony. You tongue block hole 2 with your tongue to the left and for hole 1 you tongue switch to have your tongue to the right? Also, do you tilt the face of the harmonica downwards (like you see me doing in the videos)?
