Amazing Slow Downer Tip
Another thing I learned with Amazing Slow Downer is that if I want to isolate a note in a riff I'm learning without any music notation available, hit the "H" key when that note comes on and it will hold the note until you hit the "H" key again. It kind of flutters but it's usually good enough to isolate that note while you figure out what it is on the harp. Miss it slightly and use the arrow keys to move forward or back. I find it very helpful.
If this was in the videos (I didn't watch them all) on ASD, my apologies for the redundancy.
As an alternative to the amazing slow downer if you use Windows, the Windows Media Player software has a built-in slow down facility.
Go to VIEW- ENHANCEMENTS- PLAY SPEED SETTINGS. It's not as useful as the ASD, no pitch changing for example, but worth knowing all the same. Also, the ASD has a trial version available for free on the RONI site for those who might like to try before they buy. Restrictions are that it will only play the 1st 2 tracks on a CD or first quarter of an audio file.
I'm not trying to put anyone off buying the ASD as I intend to get it myself, just offering a tip for the financially challenged amongst us!
Best Practice is a great program that does most of what ASD does
