Amp Simulator
use an amp simulator, on stage, it is possible get good results?
Thanks
Marko
Hey Sach - nicely done - sounds good!!
I also use the Harp Attack at our jams and agree about how much easier it is for set up. I'm curious as to which settings you are using. I'm playing around with them and still not completely satisfied. Maybe I have to try different mics - I tend to use my favourite that I use with my amp and haven't experimented that much with the Harp Attack. Have you tried putting any other pedals in the chain??
Do you play around with the settings through your amp at home? Does it give you the same tone information so you can use those settings at the jam? I find that there's really no time at the jam to play around with settings.
So cool to be able to ask these questions to others in the same boat. Thanks
(edit) - just reading your comments on the Lone Wolf forum - lots of useful info to play with. Thanks
Thanks for the compliments.
The settings should be in my comment on youtube. That was around (and this is in O'Clocks)Volume:11-12 Drive: 12-1: Tone: 2-3. I have learned since to press the drive a bit more, in conjunction with reducing the volume.
To experiment with it at home, I use a Fender 600 at about half volume, which is pretty clean for me. (I have a low gain tube in it 12AY or 12AU, not sure which.) It is always hard with a jam, as you are likely not in the monitor as well as you should be. I am a bit lucky at the jams around here, because I host one, and I am a good filler for when others are light on musicians, so they work with me when it comes to monitoring. Remember, the sound man is your friend! (or needs to be)
I have played with a few other pedals in the chain. Nothing worth mentioning, but they are signal sucking guitar pedals. I am about to pick up the Delay from the same company, as I am very happy with the Harp Attack.
I will make sure I post my settings for any successful adventures in Harp Attacking on LW forum, and if there is an interest, I will also post here. Right now, I am a bit focused on getting the right dial settings for using it with my chro into the PA. That will likely be my next post on youtube.
That's great info Sach - thanks. Yeah I got the comments on the Lone Wolf forum but if you do discover anything some info here would be great. The chrom thing will also be interesting (check my posting in GEneral Discussion about my latest goof) I did notice that as I lost the cup with the big stick, the volume dropped. I was too far away from the pedal to do anything about it. Let us know when you post the YouTube.
I'm nowhere near your level but this is how I learn. Thanks again
Here is some chro playing with the Harp Attack Pedal. Not extremely tight, as it is an open jam...you know how that goes. To compound matters, it is an "open mic," so there are people there playing even country music...um yuck.
But anyway, sorry to revive an older thread. The Chro is a bit light on film, but it was much better from further back. I think my wife just stands to close. She films it from her iphone. They have been recording through the board and trying to mix some good recording synced with video. If anything good comes of it, I will send it to you. I also did not really play many of the licks I perfer to play, because we had a very loud stage volume (deaf guitar players), so I stayed in comfort zone.
If you flip into my channel, we do a much more upbeat song. (Got to Let You Go) Love the song, but again the harp did not come out well on the recording.
I would love to have a full blown sound check and figure out some levels with the pedal. These open mics are difficult to deal with when it comes to that. Nevertheless, I get to hang with some friends and get cheap booze, so I bear with it.
Thanks Marko. I have the LW delay on the way...my Christmas Present from wife!
I'll be trying it out this next week, and I will post anything worthy of a look.
I just ordered a Harp Attack from Lone Wolf Blues. I saw a post hear earlier on the Harp Delay from that same company. The Harp Attack is a pedal using a tube architecture. You can dial in your settings and play directly into the PA, or you can dirty up a clean amp. It is a great product and easy to setup and use. You can look a few examples up on you tube. Here is one below:

I only had the pedal for a few days and hopped right up at an open jam. No sound check and no monitor. I could not really hear it, so my playing is a bit off, but that is a function of the sound man and me, not the pedal. Not my best licks, but you can see an example of the pedal in action. I had several people approach me and ask me how I "got that sound."
I have since learned how to adjust it a bit more, and I am getting even a nicer tone from it. There are other youtube examples with different mic combos. I am playing through a stock circa 1997 Green Bullet. My JT-30 is down, so I don't know how it would sound. I played a 57 through it this weekend with impedance matching device. Sounded great.
PS.... don't laugh at my glasses in the video. I just recently learned I can't see a dang thing.
