Artful Practice
David, in your last Tip Of The Day you wrote:
"This week I'll share with you my favorite passages from Gerald Klickstein's book, "The Musician’s Way: A Guide to Practice, Performance, and Wellness" Oxford University Press, www.oup.com ISBN 978-0-19-534313-7
Artful Practice“Wherever you hope to travel on your musical journey, practice is the only route to getting there. You may wonder whether you possess the talent to reach your goals, but musical progress depends more on practice than on talent. Talent symbolizes your underlying potential; practice enables you to realize that potential. But not just any sort of practice will do.” Pg 3“
My question:
This is pretty interesting stuff and good to know because before I don't have reached my goals I can't estimate the proportionality of practice versus talent, the experience is simply missing respectively the experience is building up step by step over the years, right? But the actual and more interesting question at my current stage is which sort of practice will do?
Thank you
Ralph
I'm glad you like the quote Ralph, there will be more this week. Search in the Forum under "Practice Tips" and you'll find a series I did on good practice habits.
