Artist Studies: Lee Oskar
Hi Dave,
Lee Oskar's "Before the Rain" was the song that always motivated me to learn harmonica. Long before the internet, and living in Mexico, resources were so scarce it took me tons of time to begin playing! Now I have tabbed Lee's song from beginning to end, it's complete and so accurate I am proud of my work! But I think there is a lot to learn from Lee's style, there are many great songs, he manufactures more than major key harps, he uses notes in his own way and some songs don't seem to fit regular harmonicas (aside from his newest CD, which features the variety he's selling). He's played with War, and solo, and he's played from rock and blues to a jazzier style...
I think all this would certainly qualify him for an "artist studies" video. Do you think it would be possible? Let me know, it would certainly be quite a highlight to know it may be featured in BluesHarmonica in the future.
Lastly, let me thank you for your great work on this site. It's the best online harmonica resource.
All the best,
Bernardo
Thank you Bernardo, I will keep this in mind.
