Bending
David .. I am just starting LOA 1 and have finished watching Bending Study 1 and it was immensely helpful. It was helpful in not only the explanation of the positions of the tongue and the 'shh', 'kee' and 'koo' sounds but when you actually produced the sounds on the 6 draw. Would it be possible to do the same study for each bendable hole...listening to you actually produce the desired sound helped me tremendously.
Also I can practice a good 30 minutes each day ( longer on weekends ) could you break down for me how long I should give each section of LOA 1?. I'm up to Walk with Me...should I also include bending in my studies?
I'm glad you're finding the material useful. You can hear me play all of the bends in that same lesson under the video titled "Working on your first bend: Part 2."
I recommend you spend 20m on the study song and the other 10m on the other material, alternating days if you're not able to get to all of it. The Solo Harmonica examples and scale will happen fast... the song is the one that will take the longest. Working on bending is a good idea right now, since you'll need to use it by LOA-L3, so any time you can squeeze in on bending will be helpful... it takes time to develop.
