Bending
Hi I have only been trying out these lessons for a few days now, but am really enjoying them. Your teaching is excellent and I have been able to learn how to play single notes, and began learning Silent Night with single notes. The only technique I was having some slight issues with was, the bending. I can not seem to get my tongue to work out the bending of the notes, I am still a beginner and this is my first time playing harmonica. I have a Blues Harp A key harmonica and it is a very nice instrument. I was just curious if there is any special practice or technique for bending that I might not be doing exactly right? I have watched your lessons on bending and have tried but I do not think my tongue is hitting the tongue block and moving up from the blow to the bend. Thanks very much, Jay.
Welcome to the site Jay. I'm glad that you're enjoying your studies.
I don't recommend that you do bending yet... that's not focused on until Level 3 in your studies. You need more time playing (commonly six months) before digging into bending. So, nothing you're doing wrong, it's just premature for you now.
