Bending - But with tongue tie
Hi, I've been learning to play the harmonica for a while now, and I'm learning how to bend. Thing is, to bend I have to control my tongue position, but I'm stuck with a condition called "Tongue tie" (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/tongue-tie/symptoms-causes/syc-20378452), and I would like to ask if there's a workaround for that? Should I keep on learning?
My pleasure. No, you will use the same approach as everyone else. The front of the tongue does not move up and back, so the shortened lingual frenulum is not an issue. The tongue already inhabits the entire range of the mouth, so it's about slightly raising your tongue to control the bend.
Hello Kurofox, welcome to the site. This will not be an issue for playing the harmonica.
