Big Walter's 'Walter's Boogie'
Trying to learn Walter's Boogie (very slowly). Couple of questions -
I've tabbed the 5th and 6th bars from the second chorus, not including the tongue flutter intro, as follows - I think it's more or less right.
My question is this: should you articulate all these notes with a 'g' or 'k' or whatever, or is the passage too fast for that? I guess at least notes carrying stress should be articulated. I have to play it very slowly to get the bends at the correct pitch but I have a hard time articulating everything when I try to speed up.
end of bar 4
[bent 2 draw, 2 draw]
bar 5
[bent 3d (1/4 step), 2d, bent 3d (1/4 step), bent 3d (1/2 step), 2d, bent 3d, 3b, 2b, 3b, 2b, 3b, 2b]
bar 6
[bent 3d (1/4 step), 2d, bent 3d (1/4 step), bent 3d (1/2 step), 2d, bent 3d, 2d ...]
No tongue switching... just stop your breath after your 3. Keep practicing, you'll get it!
this song is for beginner, intermediate or advanced?
thanks
Somewhere between intermediate and advanced. Some passages are very doable to the intermediate player and some that will make cry for your mama... like that IV Chord ;-)
Hi, David!

Hello R3Dz. That's a dead email, sorry. Please email from here https://www.bluesharmonica.com/contact_us and I'll get it to you.
Done,
thank you !
That's one of my favorite harmonica song
Great, I just sent it to you.
Yes, speed makes a difference on what you articulate. For that IV Chord lick I don't recommend any articulation. If you want to, just do it on the downbeat notes... this is most common on faster triplets like these.
The notes are 3' 2 3', 3" 2 3", 3+ 2+ 3+, 3+ 2+ 3+.
I have transcribed this... I'll be happy to share it with you. Email me at info@bluesharmonica.com and I'll send it to you.
