In the cupping lessons on the site I teach you the ways in which to achieve a very tight cup by closing off all air leakages. This is for both acoustic hand techniques (hand tremolo, wa wa, etc.) and for holding a bullet mic.
In regards to playing with a bullet mic through an amplifier, be aware of the fact that some amps you need to cup tightly to get it to respond in the way that you want, and sometimes cupping too tightly achieves a tone that's way too muted and bassy. continue reading...

When connecting two amps together, the best solution for tone and usability is an A/B Box. You can choose to play through one amp (A), the other amp (B), or both (AB) at the same time. If "A" is your more distorted amp, it can be used as your main blues harp sound. If "B" is your cleaner amp, it can be used for the songs where you want a cleaner sound. When you need a lot of volume (band gets loud... or you just need some boost for a powerful section of a song), then use both "A" and "B" at the same time. continue reading...

Want more warmth, bass and punch for your amplified sound? The Lone Wolf Harp Attack fits the bill. A student just brought in their amp and mic and it was pretty ho-hum... but then he pulled out his new Harp Attack and with some turns of it's three knobs he was sounding like Rod Piazza! Unlike other pedals I've tried it's not that prone to feedback and it doesn't distort too much or in an unnatural way... just enough to give any amp a little more tone. continue reading...
