Blues for big Nate
Hi Dave
Just working through my artist study for Jerry Portnoy doin blues for big Nate. I'm having trouble with the first chorus, basically running out of air with all the draw notes. Any ideas?
By the way really glad I started the LOA
thanks

I'd also recommend the site's Joe Filisko lessons on breathing. I've incorporated Joe's breathing tips into my daily warmup and it's helping immensely. Given the need to breathe, following Joe's tips is probably something I'll have to do for my harmonica career in order to overcome natural tendencies.
Yes, those licks take a lot of draw breath. Of course exhale before you start each phrase. Make sure to close your nose on all the draw notes. You can also exhale through your nose on the blow notes... it takes some practice, but that can help.
