Blues sound
Just starting out and love the "blues sound" the harmonica (player) can make, but I haved not yet made a single note or sound that resembles "blues" on my Special 20 harmonica. Need to know the key technique(S) to at least making a blues chord or blues sound. Is it tounge blocking? Help!
Lars your note struck a chord as i can remember feeling the same. I believe you can make your life easier if your get yourself a Hohner Crossover, which Dave recommends...... it is much more responsive..... i have drawer full of harmonicas.....spent $thousands literally. Wish i could give them back...i
apologies to Special 20 lovers.
Welcome to the site Lars39. There are many techniques that can contribute to the blues sound, but it's mostly embodied in the technique of bending. Follow the lesson plan on the site and you'll get their, just be patient, it starts in Level 2. The farther you go into your studies the more bluesy your playing will be. Best wishes on your studies.
