Breaking in a Harmonica?

I wonder, what does the Harpsmith say about breaking in a Harmonica?
I bought a new set of Marine Band Deluxe the other day and i wonder if i schould brake them in, and how?

Hi Thomas, my apologies for the delay in this response ...
Most harmonica manufactures (as well as automobile) recommend a soft approach. When possible, go easy on a new instrument and allow the "spring metal" (reeds) to settle in.
Easy in principal, but not always practical; for example, yesterday I discovered a fractured 4 draw reed on my performing D harmonica, and will not have an opportunity to replace the defective reed before the next gig. My work around is to "break-in" a new harmonica on my Master Harp Tuning Table--by opening up all the slider valves and allowing the low volume of air from my mini vacuum to accelerate the break-in process.
