Broken thread Seydel blues session steel
Hi Kinya and everyone. By mistake I used the screws from Syedel Blues session steel covers on the reedplate and I think I damaged the thread (as cover screws are little larger in diameter). So when I'm fitting original/correct screws back they will keep turning without proper hold. Any suggestion except going for a replacement reed plate?Perhaps a screw of larger diameter or some kind of epoxy solution/etc.?
Many thanks
Hello Alex, the most economical (and easiest) solution would be to replace the original M1.6 machine screws with off-the-shelf 2-56 x ⅜” machine screw and nut. Available by MicroMark in brass. A quick internet search will locate vendors who offer steel machine screws. Also check with your local hardware and automotive stores.

The diameter of the 2-56 x ⅜” machine screw is very close to your Seydel Cover Plate M2 machine screw which fastens with the Colletnuts
I didn’t want to mess up my Seydel Session, so I mocked up the demonstration with a smaller 0-80 steel machine screw
Attach and tighten the nut to the machine screw that will be exposed on the draw reed plate side.
Let us know how things turned out for you Alex.
