I have purchased hohner silverstar harmonicas for learning from the site as I am a beginner. I have heard that silverstar are inferior harmonicas. Is this true? Should I play on a different harp? Please enlighten.

Silver Star is an inexpensive harmonica and not as good quality as the favored models and brands. I have no direct experience with it, but you will probably have better experience with harmonicas of higher quality (and greater cost) such as Hohner Special 20, Marine Band, Marine Band Deluxe, Crossover, and others in the same price range.
When you play several holes at once, do all the notes sound? Do they seem like they're in tune with each other?
Does it take a lot of breath to make a sound?
Does the sound seem small?
Some of these problems are common with inexpensive harmonicas, although a beginning player can sometimes experience them even with a good quality harmonica.
My advice would be that for now, you can get started on the Silver Star, but upgrade to something better when you can.
