I have a Hohner CX12 Chormatic and love it.  I, however, would love to be able to play at least an octive lower.  I LOVE those lower notes.

Would you recommend getting a 64 hold chromatic OR just get a low tuned 12 hole?

I'm looking to be as economical as possible while maximizing the quality and sound too?

Which 12 holes OR 16 holes would you recommend?

Would you get a key of C 16 hole OR Low key of C 12 hole OR would you recommend a different key?

Thankk you AND Happy Holdays!!!  Doug

12 of one, 16 of another

If you're only going to buy one additional harmonica, and you really like the chromatic, you might think seriously about a 16-hole C chromatic; however, if it's low notes you're looking for, and you really like the CX12, why not pick up something like the LowF CX12? I have both the C and the LowF CX12, and the LowF can be a ton of fun to play in 1st, 2nd or 3rd position, eliciting some surprised responses. Plus I think Rod Piazza plays Devil's Foot on a LowF chromatic. Love that opening tremolo chord!
