Chromatic Studies - Midi Files Etc.
Hi David! I am really enjoying the Hohner Super Chromatica Harmonica Deluxe in C that you suggest for your students.
It is a big brother to my Hohner Super 20 Diatonic. It has really helped me with my embouchure for the Tongue Blocking.
One questions about using mid files.
I have a software that plays midis for the Harmonica. It is called Harping Midi. I can bring in the midi files and see the notes for the songs.
Is there a guideline that you have for students like myself that are still new to the blues harmonica and are getting my muscle memory for the blues with your study songs to play other pop, folk songs etc.
I have purchased the two Blues Harmonica Collection books that you mention in one of your messages on this forum. It has transcriptions for a great deal of the blues that you teach.
Is there some warnings and suggestions here. I can hold off on any of this.
I am getting better every day and enjoying it more and more.
Will
No... I don't see any issue with that. Transcriptions are good to study. I am not familiar with the Midi software you speak of, but as long as it's just melodies and such, I don't see any conflict in training. Have fun!
