Cords

Hi, I am a beginner at the harmonica and would like to get better att acompaniment, my problem is that I can't find any lesson about which chords there are on a harmonica and how I can use them. For example, if I am chugging I suppose it would sound best if I changed the chord along with the band? I have played accompaniment on guitar for quite a while but haven't yet been able to transfer my knowledge from the guitar to the harmonica. Hope you understand my question and can help me!

Hello Miriam. I absolutely understand what you're saying. Here are the lessons you can reference on the subject...
1) Accompaniment Playing - Start with Study 2 (http://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/accompaniment_study_2), as you get to Study 3 (triads) and 5 (7ths), they both concentrate on chord knowledge. This study will focus on arpeggios.
2) Solo Harmonica Study 2 - Is a chordal style of playing and shows many examples of playing chords over the IV and V http://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/solo_harmonica_study_2. Note that arpeggio or octave playing is most effective on the V Chord.
3) Music Theory Studies - This shows in detail the reason for the tuning chosen on the harmonica and what you can do with it in multiple positions. Since you already have a theory background you'll most likely skip the opening basics http://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/music_theory_study_1
Let me know if you have further questions after these studies.
