Dining Table Workbench
Hello Harp Techs, much to the chagrin of the "other" people in the house, I am willing to bet that many of you have commandeered either your Dining Room or Kitchen Room table as your harmonica workbench.
Living in high tech Silicon Valley, USA I am spoiled to have as my neighbors, PayPal, eBay, Apple, Google, Samsung IoT,Facebook and Tesla--just to name a few, so try to imagine my surprise when I found this affordably ($12.95) low tech and handy workbench mat at a local “computer parts” store.
Originally intended as a small parts soldering station, this mat worked perfectly for harmonica work.
Not only does it protect the table surface, the non-slip silicone material keeps little parts from rolling and bouncing around.
I was even able to line up the reeds I was going to work on!
Three lids will keep fasteners and small parts in their place
Those nasty Special 20 cover plate fasteners “ain’t goin’nowhere”! Reed wrenches, shims and plinking tools are within easy reach.
Some of the compartments are magnetized
Ports to securely hold Jewelers and Wiha screwdrivers and small drill bits
The main working tray is perfect for our harmonicas!
For $12.95, what are you waiting for. Available from Central Computers: https://www.centralcomputer.com/heat-insulation-silicone-mat.html
Your Harpsmith, Kinya
Thank you Kinya! That seems a like a great set up for the beginning harp tech.
