Morning David,
Just wondered if you, or the professional players you know have ever worn ear monitors to enable you to hear yourself playing whilst on stage?
Regards
Greg

Hello Greg. I don't personally use earplugs, but it is wise to wear them if you're gigging often. You can get the cheap foam ones, they get the job done (I keep a set in my harp case, just in case... more for me watching loud concerts than needing them on the stage). They also make ones that filter out just the harmful frequencies, specifically made for musicians (less than $80). You can also get custom ones made by a local doctor (~$200), and I know many musicians who swear by those. All of these are used to protect hearing, not hear the harp better. I think you're thinking of in-ear monitors. These are great, but very expensive... I don't personally know of any harp players that use them.
