"Trust My Baby" by Rice Miller - KILLER SONG! Turn the lights off and get deep into the blues! This one has amazing first position playing in it as well.
Others...
"Sad Hours" & "Blue Midnight" by Little Walter
"Blues for Reverend KIng" (Chro) by George Harmonica Smith
"Blues In My Sleep" by James Cotton
So many more... but these jump to mind right away...
Oh Man, that is what I call instant blues! I hear that song and I need to go on prozac:)
Adam Gussow's new album Kick And Stomp
the song
Mr. Cantrell
This song is a bit of a tranquillizer.
I like that song by Adam Gussow too but the foot drum is a bit louder than it seems like it should be. It's kind of distracting. Would be perfect if it was softer.
I'd love to be able to play some Junior Kimbrough on the harmonica someday though. If anyone knows of any harp songs that sound tantric like that let me know.
I think Junior Parker did some JL Hooker that was kind of slow. Might be wrong.

What songs are you trying to figure out by Junior Kimbrough?
I also really like Slow, Slow by Junior Wells.
-Taylor
@ John. Nothing yet. Still pretty new to the harmonica. Just kind of a goal for the future.

I am enjoying very much listening James Cotton, I think his slow solos are real killers I can stay listening his songs all night. What a tone and what a voice!! He was as good as singer as harpist.
West Helena woman - George Smith version. Killer song.
Blues In A Dream and Stormy Weather by Jerry Portnoy are good ones too.

I'm sorry but I love King of Fools by Pat Ramsey. I think the "I feel just like a Ringling Brothers clown" lyric is a little corny but when he melds his vocals into the harp it sends shivers up your spine. And his tone is killer in that song. So much feeling in that song.

Maybe it's just because I'm going through my Slim Harpo phase (again) but I really love "Blues Hangover".
Also, Rod Piazza's tone on "I Do Believe" is pretty sweet..
As is Jerry Portnoy on "Blues for Big Nate" but that may be because I'm knee deep in it as a study song.
This rates pretty high on my lists, this guy rocks all aspects of harp. Bleeds tone!!
You can't get much better than George's "Blues for Reverend King" if you're looking at chromatic. The cool thing about that song is he switches between a C chrom and a G diatonic.
Also, FYI, Dave has a study song in the bending section called "My Blues" which is a pretty cool slow blues on an A diatonic.
