Feeling like Chro Mium Man

Morning David.
I do not understand some BASIC concepts. I have a Hohner Chr. 12.
How does one place his tongue to blow just hole #1? This note seems more difficult than C on the four hole.
Secondly, do Chr. players have to do as much tongue blocking as the diatonic dudes do?
Finally, does the chromatic learning manual involve such an effective demo as you do in the diatonic series with Joe Tataglia?
Thanks, ron0
Hello Ron0. Playing hole 1 you do that same as the diatonic players... you have three choices... use whichever feels most comfortable for you...
1) Tongue Switch... block three to four holes (whichever feels more comfortable) to the right to sound the 1
2) Keep the tongue on there (blocking metal), just for the sake of having the tongue do the same thing all of the time
3) Take the tongue off, essentially puckering for hole 1
As Blues Chromatic Study #1 states you tongue block all of the time on the chromatic.
Great idea! I will keep that in mind... as soon as I find a local student that's interested in only learning the chromatic I'll do it!
