Fender Champion 20 1x8" 20-watt Combo Amp for Bulletini
Hey Greg, hope all is well. Looks like I'll be ordering a Bulletini this week but I need an amp to go along with it. I understand you recommend the Laney Cub but that's north of $350, more than I want to spend on my first amp. I was thinking of the Fender Champion 20 1x8" 20-watt Combo Amp, which Sweetwater sells for about $130. Any thoughts on this?
I trust Dave's opinion. But keep this in perspective - definitely a beginner amp and not in the same league tonally as some more expensive amps. If you've only got $100 and just want to play around at home - go for it.
The decision is only yours. All I can tell you is that I've regretted almost every decision where I've gone too cheap. If you can't get good tone you'll likely blame the amp (with some justification) - but that will defer your understanding how vital the role your own technique is. /Greg
That's great, Ace
I'm glad you like the Bulletini! I look forward to your review. Cheers!
