file vs rotary tool
I just tried to tune an older harp with a file, but I bent a reed. I guess I have been too carefull...:-)
Is it better to file away fom the fixing point (the rivet) of the reed, or is it OK to file towards the rivet point too? Is it better to use files or better invest in an electronic rotary tool? What good rotary too are shipped to EU, because those mikromark tool are only shipped for high prices... Hi JD, definitely move from rivet towards the free end of the reed. I recommend the following resources for you:
