First Jam session & Rod Piazza
Hi this is my first post too!. I finally had enough courage to play at my first blues jam session. It was at a local pub & with one of our local blues bands the Shelley Turner Band who were all really lovely. it was my birthday & I thought it was now or never & it was just about the most exciting & fun thing I have ever done. I was very nervous but as I was playing all Davids advice & his words from the improvising workshop kicked in so I was never without something to play.I am really looking forward now to the next one in August-thanks again david!
I have also been listening to the Rod Piazza double CD I bought at the workshop. Being Australian ( I know thats no excuse)I hadnt really heard of him before but I wish I had as hes an absolute legend-i love his style of playing so much. I have been working out how to play some of the tracks by ear but was wondering if David or anyone has transposed any of the classics like Juicy Harmonica etc already as i know an untrained or not so trained ear would probably miss out on a lot of the subtleies ( I cant spell that word its too late)
Thanks
Pat
Congrats on your first performance... how exciting. Yes, Rod's a great player. Unfortunately there is no transcription material on him out there...
Congratulations on your first jam Pat - sounds like your hard work paid off!!! The first one is always the hardest but the excitement and fun never go away. Keep at it!
It was good to meet you at the Masterclass week end and see that those sessions paid off.
