Hi All,

I am trying to find a decent but cheap bullet mic and amplifier as a starter combination. After seeing David's reviews of gear on this website, I settled for the Superlux D112-C mic and the Fender Champion 20 amp. The only problem is that I am struggling to find someone online that sells these models. I am wondering if the reviews are a bit dated and the gear has been superceded. Can anyone please offer advice?

I live in the UK and would like the gear to practice at home, and also possibly to perform at some open mic events in the future.

Any recommendations other than the models I have mentioned are welcome.

Thanks, Mark.

Mark:

I assume you've already checked Amazon's UK site. Both items of gear are still being sold, but finding an on-line source might be a challenge. The Harmonica Store in Frome, Somerset, has a very limited stock in hand (hope they're doing OK - nice people), but you might email them at sales@theharmonicastore.com to see if they have any ideas about where you might find what you're looking for.

Also, plenty of authorized Fender dealers in the UK. Check out Fender's website and plug in your area: https://www.fender.com/en-GB/dealers/ Then see if that seller can ship to you.

On line, Thomann apparently ships to the UK. Info at https://www.thomann.co.uk/

Here in the US I've had experiences with on-line sellers where their website hasn't shown something I'm looking for, but when I've contacted the seller directly and asked, "Can you get this for me?," in many cases the seller has been able to do a special order.

Finally, re other possible models: When David reviews stuff, he really puts it through the wringer. So if in his small amp and harp mic reviews here on the site he thinks something is good, you can be confident that it is good.

Gear selected!

Thanks for the gear advice Rob. I have put the following on my Christmas list:

Fender Mustang LT25 amp - this is probably a more up-to-date version of David's recommended Fender Mustang I. It has lots of adjustments and controls which suit my techy head.

Superlux D112C mic - Thomann have this model, so thanks!

Mark.
