Forget Christelle question..my mistake
Fritz,
Well i guess i have answered my own question...and you answered it some for me before....pardon me.
Christelle apparently is playing into a recording device directly without any speakers...so we hear something very different that even what she hears...the big box on the end is a Samson plug in transmiter and is quite heavy.
I see now the hesitancy in using wireless....it complicates the signal....
Oh well, she sounded astounding to me...its like photography sometimes I guess...what you see is often times really a manipulation...although its a nice manipulation.
Of course, before you mentioned looking at the Shure PGX line and i believe i could use my SM58 with that.
That might scratch my itch..even if its just for the fun of it.
You were right on...Thank YOU.
Hello Slucey,
That's a very poetic take on the wireless audio chain you're describing: "although its a nice manipulation". Anything and everything in the audio chain is an opportunity and a liability. I've known harp jockeys who've consciously misused wireless set-ups to achieve specific results -like photographic filters or lenses are used in the optical spectrum. Hey, it's ALL fair game! Just another pigment on the palette... - FRITZ
Christelle plays directly into her MacBook Pro. She then mixes the tracks in GarageBand. She listens to herself and the track via headphones whilst recording. I seem to recall that she usually uses a Greg Heumann Ultimate JR SM57 or SM58 mic. Sometimes she uses an Audix Fireball.
