Hi David! I hope you are doing great! My name is Norlo and I'm from Córdoba Argentina. I have been playing harmonica for a couple of years (and guitar for many years). I know all my music theory as well.My first teacher taught me how to play everything puckering: bends, scales, even a llittle bit of overblows. I can do tongue splits/octaves, a little bit of slaps, etc. No vibrato tho. I also play chromatic a bit and my former teacher taught me tango and jazz. Mostly using puckering technique except from togue splits. I have already learnt the Tongue Blocking study #1 and I started with the first chromatic harmonica study song #1 which I believe is more advanced.Should I submit the TB Study #1 recorded on video so I can get some critique from you and the forum community? Also, it is possible that i can submit the chromatic harmonica tune played with pucker technique? I'm adapting well to tongue blocking on the diatonic but it feels really awkard on the chromatic since I studied lots of scales and the jazz tunes using the pucker thing.Sorry for my bad english and thank you in advance!
Hello Norlo28, welcome to the site. Go ahead and submit TB Study 1 on the actual lesson page... I prefer audio. For the chromatic, definitely play it 100% in a tongue block (though you can pucker hole 1). Blues chromatic is a tongue block style, so stick to tongue blocking (it will make you a more diverse player... you'll benefit from using both embouchures well). I'll look forward to your first submission when you're ready.
