Got 3 draw reed to vibrate but not 2 draw
Hello Kinya;
I'm fairly new to harmonica, (less than 2 months), and I have a Special 20. The other day my 4 blow quit working, so i too the cover plates off, after making sure i rapped th harp on my leg to make sure it wasn't moisture build-up, and successfully used a small paper clip on the reed and got it working. Today I went to play 3 note chords thru holes 1-3 blow and draw, and no sound came out of 2 and 3 draw. Took the cover plates off again and used the paper clip and got the 3 draw to work but not the 2, gently pushing alternating up and down on the reed. I could see the 1 and 3 draw reeds vibrating, but the 2 wouldn't budge. I double checked with a cheap BluesBand I have and could see all 3 reeds vibrating just fine with the cover plates off. On the Special 20 the 2 draw reed won't budge at all when I draw. It doesnt raise up and vibrate like the other draw reeds. The reed freely goes thru the slot both ways.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hello Mainmark, welcome to this wacky world of harmonicas!
Sounds to me, the reed "gaps" are set too low for your playing style. Did you get an opportunity to view our Harp Tech Study Series? This maybe the step by step instruction that you are looking for:
