Greg's elements
Hello, I Don't post here much, (actually, it's been years,) but, I have to tell this wonderful forum how pleased I am with Greg Heumann's element. For some reason, I haven't had much luck with the black or white CR elements with this particular amp, (60' Concert with vintage Jensen Ceramics.) After reading various posts exclaiming this product, I sent for one. I had him install it in a JT30 shell and asked him to install a volumne control. A week later, I received it back, and, wow, what a sound! I had to turn the bass from 10 down to 5 right away. It has tremendous punch and clarity, he installed one of those slow turning pots with a nice chrome knurled knob. If your mic is not sounding the way you want, (regardless of what's inside,) the price is right, and the work is the best I've seen. Pete Grissim
I've got a BlowsMeAway mic. Really great & now I don't look at other mics any more.
I just heard a youtube video with Aki kumar about Greg's new bulletini with the Heumann element, I really want one. check it out. I have one of his wood mics with a CM element and love it, this would be a great addition.
I sent one of my wooden mics to Greg and he replaced the element with a Heumann element. Wicked sound and I'm so glad I did it. From what I understand, the great Bulletini would give you a second mic that is smaller and lighter than your wooden one. Just thought I'd mention that you can get the element replaced for that wicked sound Aki (and others) demonstrate.
We are so fortunate to have Greg as a resource for microphone related things. Super nice guy and a master at what he does. (No I'm not related - just one very appreciative customer)
Ya I ordered one of Greg's custom wood mics with the new Huemann element in it. I dont have it yet because there is a 5 month wait for custom wood mics right now but should have it in a few months hopefully. It sounds great with my new amp (memphis mini amp) which is why I purchased one.
