Guiter/Harmonica Amp and Mic

Hi Skip
I am at the moment studying the harmonica and slide guitar in the style of blues rock. Please could you provide some information on the type of amp I would need for the harmonica and slide guitar (hopefully one amp for both instruments), the mic for the harmonica and any effects pedals that I would need along with any prices that you may have
I live in England.
Many thanks for your help.
Paul
Hello Paul- Thanks for writing. That is a BIG topic, but here are some of my thoughts:
You can certainly get a great sound for guitar or harp from the same amp. In the vintage world, old Gibsons, Fenders, Supros, etc. have been prized for many years and no one would ever try to catagorize any of them as being strictly for guitar. Any properly serviced old tube amp with 5-20 watts will sound great for you.
If you buy something new and/or affordable, my advice would be to read up on the subject right here at BH.com. first. Also important in my opinion is to buy something that sounds good as-is. Too many people buy something and immediately want to start changing tubes and speakers in the hope of better tone. Effects pedals are certainly not essential. Save your money for a better amp instead!
There is a ton of info on mics and amps here at BH.com. Your situation is a common one and I'm sure that you can get some more good advice.
