Hard to get low notes on a harmonica in key A
Hi,
I have recently joined the site and I see that you recommend a harmonica in key A. I have already Special 20 in key C, however, I decided to go with a harp in key A. I bought a budget Fender Blues Deluxe in key A. Well, it is very hard for me to get a sound on the 1, 2, or even 3 hole (either blowing or drawing). I do not have such an issue on my Special 20 in C (occassionally I have an issue with hole 2, though, especially when I play a while).
I have a little experience with harps - I have two diatonic ones in C, and one chromatic. And I can get clean single notes on them. Is playing A harmonica much more difficult than in C? Or basically, is something wrong with the instrument, i.e., my Fender Blues Deluxe in A?
Thanks!
MG
Hello MG. Yeah, stick with the Hohner Special 20, that's a good quality instrument.
Hello MG. This is a common issue. Watch the first lesson video on this page: https://www.bluesharmonica.com/faq
