HarpNinja
On your recommendation, I downloaded the demo for HarpNinja. It looks to be a useful tool for nailing your bends. I was not able to thoroughly explore it, as my trial period expired after only a few hours?? My main issue is that the displays do accurately reflects the notes in each key. For example the key of E Major has 4 sharps, not all those flats that are in the Tuning Dojo display. For those who are trying to learn music as well as the harmonica, these displays are confusing and misleading.
I totally agree. I was really put off by the way Harp Ninja indicates its note names. I mean, if you're playing a blues in E with a band, I doubt the guitarist would talk about E flat instead of D sharp etc.
I really like your approach to notation, i.e., treating the harp as a transposing instrument and writing everything for a C harp, but I was kind of hoping Harp Ninja would help me think in terms of the actual notes, which it can't the way it's set up for now.
Hello Rulon. In regards to bending, as you state, there's no issue with that. In regards to keys, I agree, it will be a nice change to have it reflect the natural scale. I will suggest this to him… thanks for bringing it up.
P.S., I don't know if you already have this, but I recommend you print this for reference…
