Hohner Screwdriver
Hi Kinya,
I usually play on Crossovers. When I take them apart to adjust them from time to time, the soft brass cover plate screw get stripped pretty easily. I was using a Lee Oskar kit phillips head screwdriver but then went to the store and got a "0" phillips head. It still is stripping it. I already have the Lee Oskar and Richard Sleigh Tool Kits (both screwdrivers in the kits seem to strip these brass cover plate screws) and I can't find the Hohner Tool Kits anywhere to purchase anymore. But even if I could find them, I really only need a screwdriver that doesn't strip those screws not more shims, files and scraping tools...
I know one can purchase aftermarket stainless screws to replace them, but I'd like to save on having to fork out $8 for them on each of my harmonicas.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you,
Taylor
Thanx for the tip Rob!

WIHA SCREWDRIVER POZI NO.1 X 60 4462.
I got one of these on Ebay in the UK (after stripping the screws on my first crossover), I think it is the same as Kinya reccomends. It is a much better fit even compared with other pozidrive tips I have used!!
No such problem with the SP20s so maybe the hacksaw and a flat head driver is far more practical :).
Yeah! Case solved.

Hi, you folks are corect about the coper alloy screw's even the screwdriver in Hohner's tool kit is the wrong tipe phillips. So the wright type of phillips screwdriver ( angle of tip ) is called a J A P phillips screwdriver, it took some time find where too get them ( I oredered a 6 peace set ) but it is nice to have the tools for the job.
Note: phillip screws were invented to strip out so the screwhead is only what it was made to do.
When I used to play Hohners MS harps I had the same issue. My solution was to use a hacksaw to create a regular screwdriver straight slot. hacksaws are very cheap if you don't already have one and then any small straight bladed screwdriver or even a pocket knife will do the trick when required
